Another great green event option is to rent digital cameras instead of using disposable cameras. http://www.CameraRenter.com rents digital cameras [fully insured] and creates a free picture sharing website for you. A friend of mine hired a wedding planner and she did not have a pleasant experience. With conflicting taste in design, she had to make some big compromises to keep the wedding from turning into a disaster.

I would really take time to interview them and make sure you have the same vision before hiring them. I hope that helps.
