Our daughter and her fiance were married this past week at Toronto City Hall.
Having attended weddings where the officiant was not personally familiar with the couple whom they were marrying, and seeing these ceremonies as being pretty impersonal, I was INCREDIBLY IMPRESSED with our daughter and son-in-law's service!!
Our officiant Elaine performed a ceremony that was warm, funny, sweet, and absolutely beautiful!! It felt as if Elaine knew the couple personally, and her genuine joy in performing their service made the day so special. Between Elaine's warm and personal ceremony, the loving vows the couple wrote to each other, and the Native Wedding Blessing which Elaine read at the close of the ceremony, I doubt that there was a dry eye in the room.
I'm not certain if the service we were privileged to witness is specific to Elaine, or standard for all of the Ministerial Associates' officiants, but it was absolutely perfect.
All I can say is thanks to Elaine for making a special day even more perfect than it was. What a way to start off a marriage!!
